Today we are gonna do the CBB breakdown a little bit differently and give you each player we like on each team. With it only being a three-game slate we figured this was the best way to do it instead of a core like we normally do.
Hakim Hart ($4,800)-
Darius Morsell is out for tonight’s game and likely an extended amount of time opening the door for some value in their starting lineup. I expect Hart to fill in that role as a starter. Prior to Morsell’s injury, Hart was averaging nearly 25 minutes per game so I expect that to go up and you still get him at a bargain price.
Jairus Hamilton ($4,300)-
The other primary benefactor to the Morsell injury is Jairus Hamilton. He has a higher usage rate than Hart but is more of a risk because of his foul issues. I think Hamilton is a guy you can target that will put together a nice stat line and be slightly lower owned than Hart if Hart gets the start.
Aaron Wiggins ($7,200)-
Wiggins has been averaging 30 minutes per game with a usage rate slightly over 18. I am slightly torn whether to target him or Ayala but I give a slight nod to Wiggins who is coming off a terrible shooting performance (2-11) last game and will likely garner less ownership on a 3 game slate.
Aljami Durham ($6,300)-
Durham has a 16 usage rate, which is the second-highest on Indiana, and has been averaging nearly 35 minutes per game. Durham isn’t the type of player that will take over the game and have a slate-breaking type of night but for $6.3k on a short slate, you are getting a player that will be on the court pretty much the whole game and have opportunities.
Trayce Jackson-Davis ($9,000)-
With Jackson-Davis you know what you are getting, he is a stud that is averaging nearly 40 fantasy points a game and fills up the box score. He is very pricey but if you can find a way to get his 19.6 usage rate into your lineups I highly suggest it.
Jalen Bridges ($3,900)-
With the recent injuries on West Virginia, the Mountaineers have limited their rotation and gave Bridges 27 minutes last game. His usage rate is 14 but with the expanded role and his punt level price I expect him to be one of, if not the highest owned player on the slate tonight.
Miles McBride ($6,600)-
Cade Cunningham ($8,500)-
Cunningham is the best player in college basketball and $8,500 is far too low for him in my opinion. His usage rate is 21 and he is involved in 55% of all scoring plays for the Cowboys (26% shot rate, 29% assist rate). He is the top tier guy I am targeting first in my lineups.
Not recommended but if you need other mid-level plays to round out your lineup Avery Anderson and Bryce Williams are decent plays that should be getting a lot of minutes.
David Roddy ($8,800)-
Roddy is the points and rebound leader for CSU and he posts a 20 usage rate. I don’t mind him as a play because he will get you quite a bit of points but with a tough defensive matchup and slower pace of play versus San Diego State, it is hard to justify such an expensive price tag.
Isaiah Stevens ($7,400)-
With the 2-man ball style that Colorado State plays Stevens dominates the Assists category. He takes nearly 20% of the team’s shots and has nearly 50% of the team’s assists. I like him slightly more than Roddy on a points per dollar basis and with some of the value on tonight’s slate, it shouldn’t be that hard fitting him in your lineups.
San Diego State-
Matt Mitchell ($7,800)-
Mitchell is the usage rate leader for SDSU and fills up the stat sheet in every category. He likely gets around 30 minutes per game but I am slightly worried about how the Aztecs rotate so many players in. He is on my radar but I do not think I will get to him on most of my lineups.
